Piano trio led by Roy Powell releases a new collection of Italian music (recorded in 2023) on Terashima Records, a sequel to the 2009 release “Napoli”! Mastered by Stefano Amerio. The masterpiece “Napoli” has appeared twice on Terashima Records compilations in the past. As the title suggests, the album is full of Italian songs, and Yasukuni Terashima says, “Roy Powell is a master of playing the piano as if he were singing. He is a master of swing, of course, but he shows his talent especially in the slow numbers that express lyrical emotion”.
“The Italian Songbook“ contains seven Italian songs and two original compositions. This piano trio work is full of rich melodies that bring to mind beautiful Italian cityscapes and scenes.
