1964年ビクターから歌手デビュー。主にタレントとして活動していたが、歌手に専念するため1968年コロムビアに移籍。橋本淳・筒美京平コンビを起用し、6月に発売された移籍第1弾「太陽は泣いている」がスマッシュヒット。同年12月発売の「ブルー・ライト・ヨコハマ」は100万枚を超える大ヒットとなり「“歌手”いしだあゆみ」のイメージを確立。その後コロムビアには1980年まで約12年間在籍し、31枚のシングルと約10種のアルバム(ベスト盤除く)をリリースした。2025年3月永眠。
Artist Profile
Ayumi Ishida debuted as a singer with Victor in 1964. Although primarily active as a television personality, she moved to Columbia in 1968 to focus on her singing career. Her first release with Columbia, "Taiyo wa Naite Iru," launched in June and produced by the duo Jun Hashimoto and Kyohei Tsutsumi, became a smash hit. In December of the same year, "Blue Light Yokohama" sold over a million copies, solidifying her image as "Ayumi Ishida, the 'singer'." She remained with Columbia for approximately 12 years until 1980, releasing 31 singles and about 10 albums (excluding best-of compilations). She passed away in March 2025.
