北海道札幌市の同じ高校の軽音楽部に所属していたRico とMei によって、2020年3月に結成されたニューウェーブ・テクノポップ・バンド。2021年1月18日にX（旧Twitter）への投稿を機に爆発的な話題を呼び、ドイツの無料音楽プラットフォーム“SoundCloud” で全世界ウィークリーチャート1 位を記録。国内インディーズ音楽プラットフォーム“Eggs” でも同時期にウィークリー1 位を獲得するなど、一躍注目を集めた。2021年6月18日に初の配信シングル「Telefon」をリリース。2024年7月24日には1st アルバム『ROMP』をリリースした。また、2023年8月には地元北海道の大型フェス「RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2023 in EZO」に出演。2025 年には「CIRCLE'25」「森、道、市場2025」「FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL'25」など、国内主要フェスへの出演が続いている。これまでに、本格的な音楽性からミュージシャン・音楽ファン・各メディアからの注目を集め、企業やブランドとのタイアップも多数（北海電気工事、アルキタ、バンダイ「TAMAGOTCHI REMIX」、札幌PARCO など）。

ROMP is a new wave techno-pop band formed in March 2020 by Rico and Mei, who were both members of the light music club at the same high school in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Their music gained explosive popularity after a post on X (formerly Twitter) on January 18, 2021, reaching number one on the worldwide weekly charts of the German free music platform SoundCloud. They also achieved number one on the weekly charts of the domestic independent music platform Eggs around the same time, quickly attracting attention. Their first digital single, "Telefon," was released on June 18, 2021, followed by their first album, "ROMP," on July 24, 2024. In August 2023, they performed at the large-scale Hokkaido festival, "RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2023 in EZO." In 2025, they continued to perform at major domestic festivals such as "CIRCLE'25," "Mori, Michi, Ichiba 2025," and "FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL'25." To date, their authentic musicality has attracted attention from musicians, music fans, and various media outlets, and they have collaborated with numerous companies and brands (Hokkai Electric Construction, Alkita, Bandai "TAMAGOTCHI REMIX," Sapporo PARCO, etc.).
