鬼才の麗人・マリアンヌ東雲（歌と電気オルガン）を中心に女性4人で創業（2007年6月24日）。アルバム「マリアンヌの憂鬱」(2010年)でメジャーデビュー。
唯一無二の音楽世界とキュートなビジュアル、そしてマリアンヌの強烈なキャラクターで注目を集める。以降、扱いづらいアーティストとしてレーベル3社を渡り歩き、度重なる人員交代（メンバーチェンジ）を繰り返しながら国内大手フェスや海外公演、定期全国ツアーなどをしぶとく継続。創業15周年公演には、マリアンヌ東雲以外の従業員（メンバー）全員が突然退職。胞子（ファン）たちをざわつかせるも、創業16周年記念日には新体制での営業再開を発表し、9枚目のアルバム『マリアンヌの教典』を発売。キノコホテルの新章が開幕した。創業20周年を迎える2027年、Zepp Shinjukuにて単独実演会が決定している。

Founded on June 24, 2007, by four women centered around the brilliant and beautiful Marianne Shinonome (vocals and electric organ). They made their major-label debut with the album *Marianne’s Melancholy* (2010).
They garnered attention for their one-of-a-kind musical world, cute visuals, and Marianne’s intense personality. Since then, regarded as a difficult artist to manage, they’ve moved between three record labels and, despite repeated personnel changes, have tenaciously continued performing at major domestic festivals, overseas shows, and regular nationwide tours. For the 15th-anniversary performance, all employees (members) except Marianne Shinonome suddenly resigned. Although this caused a stir among the “spores” (fans), on the 16th-anniversary date, the group announced the resumption of operations under a new management structure and released their ninth album, *Marianne’s Scripture*. A new chapter for Kinoko Hotel has begun. A solo performance at Zepp Shinjuku has been scheduled for 2027, marking the group’s 20th anniversary.
