1992年、10代の頃の海外生活でネオ・アコースティックサウンドから大きな影響を受けたヴォーカルの木村孝之がアズテック・カメラ、ザ・スミス、フェルト、ペイル・ファウンテンズなどのバンドをコンセプトにメンバーを集め、都内のライブハウスで活動開始。
1999年、ビクターエンタテインメントからリリースされたコンピレーションアルバム「Rabid Chords Vol.1」に参加。トラッシュキャン・シナトラズ“Who’s He”の日本語カバー“Sinatra`s Joke”が収録される。これをきっかけに、トラッシュキャン・シナトラズとの交流が始まる。
2003年3月1stアルバム「THE LAUNDRIES」リリース。
そして10年の時を経て、2013年8月2ndアルバム「NATALIE」リリース。
楽曲制作と並行してライブ活動も、積極的に行う。日本のインディーシーンを牽引する「Power Pop Revival」、新潟のポップスシーンを彩る「音楽百景」など幾多のイベントに出演し、多くのギターポップ、ネオアコ関連のバンドと交流を深める。
2016年7月「FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '16 RED MARQUEE」トラッシュキャン・シナトラズのステージに、ベースでマルチプレイヤーである吉田テリー慈がトランペットで参加し話題となる。
そして2016年12月、3年半ぶりとなるニュー・アルバム「Synanthrope(シナントロープ）」リリース。アルバムからキーボード久行望が加わり5人体制に。アルバム制作では強力なエンジニア2人（元オンエアースタジオチーフ山田晋平と中島 美嘉担当エンジニア藤田敦）に山下達郎でおなじみのマスタリング界の重鎮（原田光晴）が担当し充実のアルバムに。

In 1992, vocalist Takayuki Kimura, who was greatly influenced by neo-acoustic sound while living abroad in his teens, gathered members based on the concept of bands such as Aztec Camera, The Smiths, Felt, and Pale Fountains, and started performing at live houses in Tokyo.
In 1999, he participated in the compilation album "Rabid Chords Vol.1" released by Victor Entertainment. His Japanese cover "Sinatra`s Joke" of Trash Can Sinatras "Who's He" is recorded. Triggered by this, interaction with Trashcan Sinatras begins.
In March 2003, his 1st album "THE LAUNDRIES" was released.
After 10 years, the 2nd album "NATALIE" was released in August 2013.
In parallel with music production, live activities are also actively performed. He has appeared in many events such as "Power Pop Revival", which drives the Japanese indie scene, and "Ongaku Hyakukei", which colors the Niigata pop scene, and deepens exchanges with many guitar pop and neo-acoustic bands.
In July 2016, bassist and multi-player Terry Yoshida participated in the Trashcan Sinatras stage at "FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '16 RED MARQUEE" as a trumpet.
In December 2016, the new album "Synanthrope" was released for the first time in three and a half years. From the album, keyboard Hisayuki joined and it became a 5-member system. In album production, two powerful engineers (former on-air studio chief Shinpei Yamada and Mika Nakashima engineer Atsushi Fujita) and mastering master (Mitsuharu Harada) who is familiar with Tatsuro Yamashita are in charge of the album.

Information
The Laundries is a neo-acoustic band from Tokyo. An album containing 10 songs carefully selected from the 3 albums released so far and the split flexi with Kansai's b-flower. Mastered by Kenichiro Kozono (small garden studio), who is familiar with the label. Asuka Iwabuchi is in charge of the overall artwork for the front sleeve, based on an impressive photo reminiscent of davis k.clain's longshots ~ thank you. The current neo-acoustic band The Laundries, whose new release is awaited, revives classic songs of yesteryear on vinyl. Comes with a digital download code and an insert containing lyrics and a rare artist photo. There is no doubt that it will be a super featured item for Record Day in 2023!!
