セキトオ・シゲオ(関藤繁生)
幼少期にピアノを学び、17才から作曲家を志し、大阪教育大学特設音楽課程作曲科で学ぶ。
その後エレクトーンという新しい楽器に惹かれ、1967年にエレクトーンコンクール全国大会第1位を受賞。
1975年から77年にかけて日本コロムビアから『華麗なるエレクトーン Special Sound Series』4作品をリリース。
エレクトーン界の第一人者のひとりとして活躍する。
後年は、秋篠健(あきしのけん)の名前でピアノによる演奏や作曲活動をしていた。
Artist Profile
Shigeo Sekito began his musical journey learning piano in his childhood. At 17, he set his sights on becoming a composer, studying composition at the Osaka Kyoiku University's special music program.
He later developed an interest in the new instrument, the Electone, and in 1967, he won first prize at the National Electone Competition. From 1975 to 1977, he released four works under the series "Special Sound Series" from Nippon Columbia, establishing himself as one of the leading figures in the Electone world. In his later years, he performed and composed piano music under the name Ken Akishino.

"The Word II," which gained instant worldwide recognition after being sampled by Mac DeMarco in "Chamber of Reflection" and by Travis Scott and Quavo's unit HUNCHO JACK in "How U Feel." Shigeo Seikito 's seminal work, which includes that track, will be reissued on colored vinyl. It's the most widely listened-to electone piece in the world, drawing attention from a diverse range of audiences including hip-hop, Balearic, and dream pop enthusiasts.
