Formed in the summer of 2013, Helsinki Lambda Club is a Japanese alternative rock band led by vocalist Kaoru Hashimoto, whose musical roots go deep into 70's rock all the way to modern indie pop, resulting in a concoction of music that encompasses the attitude of garage punk, as well as the spirit of new wave and psychedelic. With highly addictive melodies, playful lyrics and experimental soundscapes that can morph from sunny surf rock into full on psychedelia on the next track, their music transcends borders of genre and culture.
They have become an irreplaceable force in the Japanese rock scene, making performances at festivals and selling out large-scale venues, as well as touring in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Taiwan. Just as US and UK rock were embraced by the world regardless of language, the music of Helsinki Lambda Club holds the same power; to give listeners an elated, feel-good experience.

“夢から現実へ変わっていく時間”を描いた、本作「Hello, my darkness」を象徴とするM1「I'm as real as donut」からはじまり、光も闇も不条理も、全部受け入れて生きていきたいという気持ちを、性急なビートとマッドな音に乗せて歌った楽曲M2「Khaosan」、性愛にまつわる駆け引きを歌ったM3「真っ暗なドーナッツ」、橋本薫(Vo/Gt)が世の中をありのままに見つめたM4「Village Satomi」、日本とアメリカをルーツに持ち、多文化なスタイルを取り入れ高いスキルで日本語と英語を組み合わせたラップを魅せるWez Atlasを客演に迎えた、“会いたい人に会いに行きたい”ということがテーマのM5「Mystery Train (feat. Wez Atlas)」、そして最後に“現実から夢へと戻っていく”ドリーミーなM6「夢で逢えたら」で締めくくる、全6曲入り。

As the bridge between Japanese and International music favored by Indie Rock fans, Helsinki Lambda Club released “Hello, my darkness”, a mini album conceptualized on the complication between fantasy and reality.
Subsequent to their release of single “Inception (of)” featuring CHAI, their new mini album released July 13th, “Hello, my darkness” presents various genres ranging from Post Punk, Hip-hop, Funk to Psychedelia.
This album spins off with “I’m as real as a donut”, expressing the moment fantasy turns into reality, followed by “Khaosan”, revealing desires to embrace all light, darkness, and insanity. The third track “Pitch-Black Donut” displays the push and pull within sexual love, and track four “Village Satomi” portrays the world seen through Kaoru Hashimoto (Vo/Gt)’s eyes. Track 5 “会いたい人に会いに行きたい” features Wez Atlas, who inherits both Japanese and American roots, blending multi-cultural rap styles, and the last dreamy track brings you back to fantasy from reality, titled “I’ll see you in my dreams”. Contains 6 tracks in total.
