1995年にバンド結成、1997年にソニー・レコードより『Joy of Living 』 でメジャー・デビュー。ビートルズやビーチボーイズなどのロック、ジョニ・ミッチェルやキャロル・キングなどのSSW、ソフトロックやスウェディッシュ・ポップなど幅広い洋楽の影響を受けてきたメンバーによる作品は、90年代にムーヴメントとなった「渋谷系」やその後続いた「下北沢系」の影響を受けたリスナーを中心にファンが増加。これまでに６枚のフルアルバム、５枚のミニアルバムその他多数のシングル作品を発表しており、2000年代には韓国やアメリカでも作品をリリース、メキシコ含めた４カ国でライヴも行った。近年はゲームの主題歌などにも楽曲提供をしており、渋谷系・下北沢系ファンのみならず、ゲーム・アニメファンにも広がりを見せている。2015年12月にはフレイヴァー・オブ・サウンドより『flow』（CD+DVD）を、2016年12月に20周年記念マキシシングル「Hands／音楽の神は微笑んだのか」をリリース。さらにデビュー20周年を記念した編集盤『GOLDEN☆BEST Master TIME TRAVEL ～Sony Music Years Selection～』 をソニー・ミュージックより2018年3月にリリースした。その後もマイペースに活動を続けており、2019年にミオベル・レコードより拘りの7インチモノミックスEP『24 Hours / I just wanna kiss you』を、そしてデビュー25周年を迎える2022年には、アニバーサリー7インチEP「オレンジ / 遠い空」をレコードの日にリリース予定。
Artist Profile
Swinging Popsicle was formed in 1995 and made its major label debut in 1997 with Joy of Living on Sony Records. The band has been influenced by a wide range of Western music, including rock music by The Beatles and The Beach Boys, SSW music by Joni Mitchell and Carole King, soft rock and Swedish pop. They have an increasing number of fans, mainly listeners influenced by the 'Shibuya-kei' movement of the 1990s and the 'Shimokitazawa- kei' movement that followed. They have released six full-length albums, five mini-albums and numerous singles, and in the 2000s released albums in South Korea and the USA, and performed live in four countries, including Mexico. In recent years, they have also provided music for game theme songs, etc., and are expanding their fan base not only among Shibuya-kei and Shimokitazawa-kei fans, but also among game and animation fans, releasing 'flow' (CD+DVD) from Flavour of Sound in December 2015 and the 20th anniversary maxi-single ' Hands / Ongaku-no kamiwa-hohoendanoka"" was released. In addition, an edited compilation ""GOLDEN☆BEST Master TIME TRAVEL ~Sony Music Years Selection~"" was released in March 2018 from Sony Music to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their debut. Since then, They have continued their activities at their own pace, releasing their obsessive 7-inch mono-mix EP ""24 Hours / I just wanna kiss you"" from Miobell Records in 2019, and an anniversary 7-inch EP ""Orange / Tooisora"" in 2022, the 25th anniversary of their debut. Scheduled for release on Record Day 2022.

The beautiful melodies spun by the members and the outstanding arrangements produced by Keiichi Tomita still shine through. Includes a bonus CD of new songs.
