もしもこのサウンドがスーパーのお魚コーナーで流れていたら… 8-BIT、チップチューン、ダブファンは歓喜するに違いないー 毎年カリフォルニアのモントレーで開催されるビッグフェス「カリフォルニアルーツ」では、常連として出演を重ねている南北カリフォルニアを拠点に活動するハワイ・カネオヘ出身のキュートなVo.トリッシュを要した人気ロックレゲエグループ HIRIE（ハイリー）のバンドリーダーであり、SAXとコンポーズを担当するクリス デル カミノの8-BITサウンド・ソロプロジェクトがBEEK（ビーク）だ。
8ビットレトロなビデオゲーム音楽作曲家、チップチューン愛好家であるビークは、1990年代半ばからチップアートに貢献、デモシーンと連携した活動を展開してきた。日本のチップチューン・デモシーンのコミュニティにもひっそりと在籍し、シリアスかつPOPなトラックメイキングを重ねている。坂本龍一のB-2 UNITを彷彿とさせるチップチューン・ダブが展開されたオリジナルアルバム SPACEWAVES (2019)、過去に録り溜めた作品と新曲、またHIRIEのヒット曲 ”SENSI BOY”のカヴァー”8-BIT BOY”（L.A.地下シーンでHIRIEとのライブも披露済み）、ジェネシスやキュアー、ボビー・マクファーリンなどのセンスの光る8-BITカヴァーが聴ける最新アルバム THE LOST BACKUPS (2020)をダブルパックにした完全限定カセットアルバムは、米国で開催されたカセットウィーク2020にてマハロ・アンリミテッドからドロップされた。
今回の”レコードの日”リリースは、 HIRIEオリジナルの”SENSI BOY”を8ビットアレンジに変貌させた“8-BIT BOY”にトリッシュのVo.がオーヴァーダブされたバックアップデータが奇跡的に残っており、クリス自身の手によって新たに2022年リマスターとして蘇った。まさに世界初リリースのコアなヴァイナルドロップだ。

BEEK ft. HIRIE
At the big festival "California Roots" held in Monterey, California every year, HIRIE, a popular rock reggae group with cute vocalist Trish from Kaneohe, Hawaii. ) bandleader and SAX and composer Chris Del Camino's 8-BIT sound solo project is BEEK.

An 8-bit retro video game music composer and chiptune enthusiast, Beek has been contributing to chip art since the mid-1990s, working with the demoscene. Quietly enrolled in the Japanese chiptune demoscene community, he continues to make serious and pop tracks. An original album SPACEWAVES (2019) with chiptune dub reminiscent of Ryuichi Sakamoto's B-2 UNIT, previously recorded works and new songs, and a cover of HIRIE's hit song "SENSI BOY" - “8-BIT BOY” (already performed live with Trish in the L.A. underground scene), the latest album THE LOST BACKUPS (2020) where you can listen to 8-BIT covers with a sense of Genesis, Cure, Bobby McFerrin, etc. The cassette album was dropped by Mahalo UNltd. at US Cassette Week 2020.

“Japan Record Day" 2nd drop release miraculously retains the backup data of Trish's vocal overdubbed "8-BIT BOY", which is an 8-bit arrangement of HIRIE's original "SENSI BOY", Revived as a new 2022 remaster by BEEK himself. It is exactly the vinyl drop of the world's first release.


HIRIE, a rock reggae band from San Diego in Southern California with Trish, a cute Italian + Filipino female vocalist from Kaneohe, O’ahu, Hawaii. At the time of the 1st album's release, the big-tune SENSI BOY, which also showed a music video, became a big topic here in Japan. After serving as the finale for California's big reggae festival Cali roots, and after a hard schedule on a live tour in the mainland, they have grown greatly as a talented rock reggae band connecting Cali and Hawaii, and are already a representative of the California music scene.
Chris del Camino ft. INNA VISION 
Chris del Camino is the bandleader of rock reggae group HIRIE based in San Diego, California, and is in charge of SAX and composition. debuted in Japan with his first solo single! Maui's reggae sensation INNA VISION, known for its activities across Hawaii and California, to the "Sunset Reggae" tune that mixes the laid-back feeling unique to So-Cal San Diego, roots reggae, and island vibes. Koa Lopes (INNA VISION) rides on with island reggae style toasting! Debut solo single, 90's synth pop, one of the gems that will make AOR fans groan is finally reissued on double cider vinyl 7in EP!
