1997年の春頃、横浜本牧の伝説的スポット「イタリアンガーデン」にて発生した東洋一のサウンド・マシーン。
発足以来、「音楽ジャンルからの解放」をモットーとする全方向型音楽で、中毒性のあるポップ・ウイルスが全国のクラブ・フィールドや、音楽マニアの間でジワジワと拡散を始めるが、メジャー配給となった2002年の4thアルバム『Gran Turismo』を機に、瞬く間にファン層を拡大し、幅広い年齢層からも人気を博す。
2004年春リリースのベストアルバム『CKBB』が初めてチャート9位にランクされ、2004年、2005年と日本武道館公演を成功させる。
2009年にはユニバーサルミュージックと契約し、新レーベル「Doublejoy International」を設立。2015年8月にリリースされた16枚目のアルバム『もうすっかりあれなんだよね』は最高位の3位を記録し、2004年～2018年までのオリジナルアルバムがすべてベスト10にチャートインするなど、コンスタントな人気を獲得している。
2017年は“クレイジーケンバンド結成20周年”を迎え、6月にはクレイジーケンバンドが本人役で初出演した映画『イイネ！イイネ！イイネ！』の全国公開、8月には３枚組のベストアルバム『ALL TIME BEST ALBUM”愛の世界“』をリリース。9/2には結成20周年のアニバーサリーライブを横浜赤レンガ野外特設ステージで1万人を動員し、大盛況のうちに幕を閉じた。
2018年のデビュー20周年イヤーは８月に3年ぶりのオリジナルアルバム『GOING TO A GO-GO』をリリース。そして9月24日には横浜アリーナでの記念ライブを行った。2019年には8月に19枚目のアルバム『PACIFIC』をリリースした（11位）。2020年10月には20枚目のアルバム、『NOW』（14位）をリリースし、15年ぶりの日本武道館公演を開催した。2021年、クレイジー・ケンこと横山剣がデビュー40周年を迎え、初のカヴァー・アルバム『好きなんだよ』をリリースし、ビルボード週間アルバムチャート4位を獲得した。
2022年結成25年を迎え、22枚目のアルバム『樹影』、2023年には23枚目のアルバム『世界』を、2024年には24枚目のアルバム『火星』をリリースし、2025年25枚目のアルバム『華麗』をリリースした。

Artist Profile

Hailing from the legendary "Italian Garden" in Honmoku, Yokohama, this "Orient's No. 1 Sound Machine" emerged around the spring of 1997. Adopting a motto of "liberation from musical genres," their omnidirectional sound and addictive "pop virus" began to spread steadily through club scenes and among music enthusiasts nationwide. Their fan base expanded rapidly—drawing in listeners across a wide age range—following the 2002 release of their fourth album, *Gran Turismo*, which marked their major-label debut.
Their greatest hits album *CKBB*, released in the spring of 2004, reached number nine on the charts, and they successfully held concerts at the Nippon Budokan in both 2004 and 2005.
In 2009, they signed with Universal Music and established a new label, "Doublejoy International." Their 16th album, *Mou Sukkari Are Nanda yo ne* (released in August 2015), peaked at number three; notably, every original album released between 2004 and 2018 has charted in the top ten, demonstrating their enduring popularity.
2017 marked the band's 20th anniversary. June saw the nationwide release of the film *Iine! Iine! Iine!*, in which the band members appeared as themselves, followed by the August release of a three-disc greatest hits album titled *ALL TIME BEST ALBUM: Ai no Sekai* (World of Love). On September 2, they held a massive 20th-anniversary concert on a specially constructed outdoor stage at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, drawing an audience of 10,000 and concluding the event with great success.
During their 20th-anniversary year of 2018, they released *GOING TO A GO-GO*—their first original album in three years—in August, and held a commemorative concert at Yokohama Arena on September 24. In August 2019, they released their 19th album, *PACIFIC*, which reached number 11 on the charts. In October 2020, the band released their 20th album, *NOW* (reaching number 14), and held a concert at the Nippon Budokan for the first time in 15 years. In 2021, Ken Yokoyama—known as "Crazy Ken"—marked the 40th anniversary of his debut and released his first cover album, *Suki Nanda yo*, which reached number 4 on the Billboard weekly album chart.
The band celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2022, releasing their 22nd album, *Juei*; they subsequently released their 23rd album, *Sekai*, in 2023, their 24th album, *Kasei*, in 2024, and their 25th album, *Karei*, in 2025.
