1949年5月5日生まれ、兵庫県神戸市出身のギタリスト／作曲家／アレンジャー。69年にコンテストのロック部門で優勝。渡米を経て、“赤い鳥”に参加するも73年に脱退。その後、エントランス、バンブー、カミーノとバンドを結成。80年にはYMOのツアーに参加。以降、80年代はアレンジャーとしても活躍。山下久美子、大江千里、本田美奈子らの楽曲を手掛ける。80年代後半から90年代前半にはギタリストとして後藤次利作品を中心に参加。“ミュージシャンズ・ミュージシャン”として名を馳せたが、1998年、49歳で死去。

Born May 5, 1949 in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, guitarist/composer/arranger. He won the rock section of the contest in 1969. After moving to the United States, he joined "Akai-Tori" but left in 1973. After that, he formed a band with Entrance, Bamboo and Camino. In 1980 he toured with YMO. Since then, he has been active as an arranger in the 1980s. He has worked on songs by Kumiko Yamashita, Senri Oe and Minako Honda. From the late 80's to the early 90's, he participated mainly in Tsugutoshi Goto's works as a guitarist. He made a name for himself as a "musician's musician" but died in 1998 at the age of 49.

The first leader work of Kenji Omura, one of Japan's leading guitarists. Produced by Jun Fukamachi, in addition to Fukamachi and Omura, Ryuichi Sakamoto (key), Tatsuo Hayashi (ds), Shuichi "Ponta" Murakami (ds), Rei Ohara (b), Motoya Hamaguchi (perc), Nobu Saito (perc) , Rei Ohara (b), and other talented studio musicians of the time gathered. This work includes the original recorded in 1978 and the 1979 version of "Left-Handed Woman".
