What's Love?＝「愛って何?」それはバンド名であるとともに、コンセプトでもある
。メンバーは全員高校の同窓生だが、音楽的指向はバラバラな3人。
その間に有るのは音楽的な繋がりではなく、むしろ「友情」とか「信頼」といった人間的繋がり。
そこから生み出された音楽は、巷の既成概念に捕われる事無く、この3人にしか表現できない唯一無二な存在といえる。
と言っても何のことか解らないので、簡単にその音楽性を説明すると、まずそのリズムの中心にあるのは「スカ」。
しかし流行りのスカコアではなく、昔ながらのオーセンティックスカでもない。
誤解を恐れずに言うならば、レゲエ・スカを基本にノスタルジックな「昭和歌謡」テイストを大胆に取り入れた「歌謡スカ」バンドなのです。

"What's Love?"—the name serves as both the band's moniker and its core concept.
Although the three members are high school classmates, their musical tastes vary widely.
What binds them together is not a shared musical direction, but rather personal bonds rooted in friendship and trust.
The music born from this dynamic defies conventional norms, creating a unique sound that only this trio could produce.
To put it simply—since the description above might be a bit vague—their sound is anchored in "ska."
However, it is neither the trendy "ska-core" nor traditional "authentic ska."
At the risk of oversimplification, they are a "Kayo-ska" band: a group that blends a foundation of reggae and ska with bold elements of nostalgic "Showa-era pop" (kayokyoku).

Information
Member AG Kanno (Eiji Kanno) selected ten tracks for this vinyl release from *Onko-Chishin* ("Learning from the Past"), the fourth album released by What's Love? in March 2003.
This album embodies the band's philosophy of "discovering the new by revisiting the old"—a fitting concept for What's Love?, a leading Japanese "Kayō-ska" (Showa-era pop meets ska) band.
It is an outstanding collection of brilliant ska-style covers featuring classic Showa-era pop songs, with guest appearances by Ken Yokoyama, BONNIE PINK, Miyuki Hatakeyama, and Kazufumi Kodama!
Despite undergoing lineup changes, the band remains active and continues to perform live today.
